ISO 14064
Green house gases like carbon dioxide have been realized as a major cause of Global Warming. Many organizations have begun to concern how much green house gas is produced in their industrial activities. International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has launched a new standard ISO14064 series in year 2006. The purpose of this standard is to standardize the process of quantifying and reporting the green house gas release from an organization.

ISO14064 can be applied to all kinds of organizations, e.g. manufacturing plants, trading firms, schools, government and public organization. The standard defined the whole process from identifying the operational boundary, quantifying the emission of greenhouse gas to methodology of reporting.
Through the process of quantifying the green house gas emission, organization can understand their baseline of green house gas emission. They can use this baseline to develop the target of reduction of green house gas.
